We had the good fortune of connecting with Kelly White-Bryant and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kelly, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Frogtown Hemp, LLC is owned and operated by sisters, Kelly and Lacey. Our interest in CBD began by purchasing CBD for our dogs. We were looking for a natural alternative to prescription medication to help with our aging pets. This interest evolved into finding natural ways to help us, our friends and family. We soon discovered that CBD is beneficial in many areas without the harmful side effects of pharmaceuticals. Yet then we realized that it was a challenge to find a quality US grown and produced product at a reasonable price. This is where we began to organically grow our own hemp for our CBD products.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are very involved in each step of the process. Our great great grandparents purchased the farm land in 1896. Last year our farm, The White Family Barn Farm, was honored with the Georgia Centennial Farm Award. This is a testament to the importance of farming and caring for the environment that has been in our family for over a century. Our family has farmed the land since 1896. The farm work is completed by Kelly and Lacey and their father Bruce. This allows us to have complete control of our products. Each hemp seed is planted by hand and transplanted as a seedling. All of our plants are hand harvested and bucked before processing. Our products are high quality, small batch CBD products that use organic ingredients. They are vegan, non gmo, gluten free and cruelty free.
We have had lots of love and support from family and friends to make our dream of providing quality small batch, locally grown hemp, a reality. Frogtown Hemp products are handcrafted to produce products you too will love. We believe that with any product you are consuming or giving to a loved one you should know and trust your source.
We can assure you that you are getting a quality product with Frogtown Hemp. We personally oversee the craft hemp production from seed to harvest in the southern Appalachian Mountains. All of Frogtown Hemp is grown with natural organic methods. Once harvested, the hemp is processed at a licensed organic and kosher processing facility. With this small batch production, we aim to create a combination that offers you vibrant, nourishing CBD to support your lifestyle!
There is no step in the process that is not carefully and artfully managed to bring customers the best CBD to the market. We believe that good CDB grows with good hearts from good soil – we have both!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When we have guests in our little mountain town, we always recommend spending some time in downtown Dahlonega. To learn more about the local history a visit to Consolidated Gold Mine and the Historic Gold Museum are a must. We enjoy dining at Spirits Tavern and stopping by The Fudge Factory for dessert. We also like to take friends hiking on the Appalachian Trail. Two of our favorite day hikes are Preachers Rock near Woody Gap and Blood Mountain near Neels Gap. Of course we would stop at Mountain Crossing after we descended Blood Mountain. If the water level is suitable we enjoy a relaxing float down the lower Chestatee River with Chestatee River Adventures. We also have many local wineries. One of our favorites near the farm is Three Sisters Winery. There are so many great places to visit in Lumpkin County. You could stay here a week and not have time to visit all the highlights.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We would like to shout out to our ancestors for instilling love and compassion within us. We have been taught to have compassion for other animals, humans and the earth around us. In addition, we would like to give a huge shout out to our parents. They provided us with everything we needed in childhood and taught us an amazing work ethic. We were shown that hard work and dedication to one’s goals will create success and happiness. Our father continues to work 16 hour days with his construction company and on the farm. He is someone we admire and hope to be more like each day.
